Laser-based sample preparation system
The
microPREP PRO FEMTO
is a
laser-based sample preparation system
developed by 3D-Micromac AG, designed for
high-speed Atom Probe Tomography (APT)
and cross-section sample preparation. It features a
femtosecond laser source
that enables
nanometer precision material removal
, allowing for the preparation of
APT microtip coupons
directly from sample materials with automated workflows. This system is particularly effective for preparing metals, semiconductors, ceramics, polymers, and advanced composites, offering advantages such as
increased speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
compared to traditional methods like focused ion beam (FIB) milling.
With the microPREP PRO FEMTO, a variety of applications can be targeted:
APT-sample preparation
Sample preparation for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
Specimen preparation for Focused Ion Beam and Scanning Electron Microscopy (FIB/SEM)
Preparation of cylindrical samples for 3D-analysis
Cutting almost arbitrary samples according to user specifications in micron precision for material analysis etc.
