A hybrid PVD/CVD system for MgB2 deposition. Mg is evaporated from a circular heater with the Mg in a ring-shaped recess. The sample is located in the center of the heater, and kept hot to avoid condensation of the Mg vapor. When adding a mixture of hydrogen and diborane, MgB2 is formed and condensed on the sample surface.
